GleanView Calendar

The Problem

The current calendar interface lacks mobile responsiveness, and users are unable to efficiently access a detailed daily planner for selected dates. Additionally, the existing system does not support the creation of tasks as alternatives to events, limiting its functionality. Moreover, there is no provision for users to conceal completed tasks or events, which can lead to clutter and decreased usability. Addressing these deficiencies could significantly enhance user experience by improving accessibility and functionality.

How might we…

Create a calendar experience

For the user

To provide a great experience creating events, modifying events, view agenda regardless of the device they are using

By adding a daily agenda scrolling view to the calendar and adding a mobile friendly way to add, update and delete events.

So that the user can quickly see the most important events and details on the fly and also easily update when on mobile and away from the desk.

The Research

The current calendar interface lacks mobile responsiveness, and users are unable to efficiently access a detailed daily planner for selected dates. Additionally, the existing system does not support the creation of tasks as alternatives to events, limiting its functionality. Moreover, there is no provision for users to conceal completed tasks or events, which can lead to clutter and decreased usability. Addressing these deficiencies could significantly enhance user experience by improving accessibility and functionality.

The Solution

Implement an agenda view that enables users to access a detailed daily schedule without forfeiting the ability to view the monthly calendar. For the mobile interface, we will introduce a tap feature that displays the day’s events, allowing users to update and complete tasks seamlessly.

GleanView Navigation

The Problem

The current navigation system occupies a significant amount of valuable screen space. As certain components of the application will be restructured into optional add-ons, the existing navigation layout will need to be revised to accommodate these changes effectively.

How might we…

Create a navigation experience

For the user

To provide a great experience navigating the app regardless of their role

By simplifying the navigation and keeping it off screen once a user has entered an account, opportunity etc.

So that the valuable screen space currently occupied by the navigation can be used to display important data tailored to users’ needs based on their specific tasks

The Research

The current navigation system occupies a significant amount of valuable screen space. As certain components of the application will be restructured into optional add-ons, the existing navigation layout will need to be revised to accommodate these changes effectively.

The Solution

I proposed implementing a slide-out navigation system that will maintain consistency across both desktop and mobile platforms. This system will allow navigation items to drill down from the primary categories—Sales, Marketing, Analytics, Calendar, and Dashboard. This approach will free up valuable screen space, enabling a redesign of the account and subpages to prioritize important data above the fold. Additionally, we plan to submit a ticket for a future project to develop a comprehensive search field. This feature will enable users to search across all sales data, retrieving specific accounts, opportunities, contacts, or projects within their permission settings.
